Since moving here, Laura and I have discussed a few times that we don’t have any friends that we can depend on and just hang out with. Everyone we know, we can only hang out with on a limited basis because Laura and I don’t see eye to eye with everyone. We have friends here in The City but no one that we can call up at a moment’s notice and sit down at a bar over beers, go see a movie or take a road trip. That was until we met Liana.
Liana found me last year around September (2007) as a commenter on my MacworldBound blog. She was very helpful with Macworld planning and decision making and the two of us coordinated a lot of things. I met her for the first time at Macworld. Since then, we’ve been chatting back and forth and following each other’s progress in the virtual world.
When Laura and I moved to San Francisco, it was within the first 2 weeks that Laura had the opprotunity to meet her. After that, we started hanging out more and more. I am spending time here and there at Liana’s studio space and Laura is using the studio space to do freelance graphic design work. Liana is busy with her own work but not a day goes by without us talking to Liana or meeting up with her. Every morning for the past 3 weeks usually starts with an email to and from her and then we’ll go to events together, grab dinner or just generally hang out and help eachother out with our work.
Laura finally has a clothes shopping buddy and I have a friend that can help me with technical and Internet things. Liana has become a friend to Laura and I and we’re greatful to have her around. She is the first step to making our move to San Francisco a lot more enjoyable.
