I remember it like it was yesterday. Laura and I touched down in San Francisco at 10PM on June 30th. We were tired, lugging around 8 bags and felt the cold windy air hit us in the face as we unloaded our bags and walked into the hostel to get a good night sleep.
The next morning, we woke up to sign the paperwork on our apartment and start our life in the city. We got omelets at Cafe Mason and spent the rest of the day at Target with Nick Starr then unpacking all of our things. It took us the whole month to really get used to the city, unpack, get used to transit, get settled in to our daily grind. We’ve been here four months and 4 days and everything is still on track.
Laura and I are working full time. I’m working way too much and we’re still exploring the city just not as much. We go to parties together, sleep in on Sunday morning and get all of our news, entertainment from a Windows Media Center Dell in our apartment. We don’t need a TV and we make our money using computers as well. We have a schedule to do things, know when it’s time to get new muni passes and we even have our grocery store visits down to a science (being that we have to carry our groceries home).
Laura and I have fallen deeper in love over the past 4 months as well. We had our first fight the other day but it was a very constructive fight and finished with a hug after we were done. We truly love each other and I can see spending the rest of my life with her. We don’t own furniture, a house, a car or any real collatoral but we have each other and that’s what matters.
We both miss our family and friends back home. Laura and I have made huge progress in our careers out here in San Franisco. We have made changes within ourselves that never would have happened living in Florida. I’m at the top of my game and excited to be a part of the web 2.0 revolution. I’m unsure what’s going to happen with the financial collapse and it has Laura and I pretty scared.

We are both Obama supporters and nothing that you will tell me will change that.
I’ve let my father down on a few things regarding my fitness, commitment to our family and not carrying on some traditions of our family. I’ll make it up to him soon and I know that he truly loves loves me and I love him just as much. I miss dad and the rest of my family and think of them every day. Laura misses her mom so much and not a day passes that she doesn’t talk about her mom.

There’s nothing totally new to report other than what I included before. Thank you to our families who support us, our new friends in San Francisco and to everyone who supported us on the Internet and in real-life.
